Gale O. Wilson, 84, a resident of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away on October 6, 2021, from natural causes.
Gale was born on May 4, 1937 in Green Pond, Alabama, to the late Daniel Edward Oglesby and the late Ruby Ereline Calloway. She was a 1955 graduate of Bessemer High School. After graduation she enlisted in the Women's Army Core (WAC) and attained the rank of Sergeant. She earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Albany Junior College. Gale finally fulfilled her dream of moving to the beach in 1981 and shortly thereafter opened her own successful accounting business, Gale Wilson Accounting Services. This is where she spent the rest of her working career before selling her business and retiring in 2016. She was a member of St Andrews Episcopal Church.
Gale enjoyed Alabama football, politics, traveling, helping others, spending time with family and friends, tending to her flowers and favorite Ficus tree as well as enjoying time at her home she loved so much.
She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Kimberly Anne Poole, her parents, her brother Dallas Edward Oglesby of Birmingham, Alabama and her sister Betty O. Jacobs of Brunswick, Georgia.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Jennifer Poole Merritt (Chris Mallows) of Slapout, Alabama; Ashley Poole Meadows of Panama City Beach, Florida; two grandsons, Justin David Meadows of Panama City Beach, Florida and Rob Masterson Merritt of Greenville, Alabama and several nieces and nephews.
Gale will be honored with a bay-side Celebration of Life at the No Name located at 5555 US Hwy 98, Panama City, FL 32401, on the back deck, Saturday, November 6 th at 10:30am. Dress is casual.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to St Jude Children's Hospital in Gale's name.
