Obituary

Frederick (Fred) James Cagney passed away peacefully at his home in Panama City Beach, Florida on August 24th, 2024. He battled Parkinson's disease for several years.

Fred was born on January 12th, 1944 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He attended St Augustine Catholic School and graduated in1962 and immediately joined the navy for four years.  He moved from Kalamazoo to Florida in 1989. He made his living as a mechanic and spent his spare time boating, restoring antique cars ,boats and flying radio control airplanes.  In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Fred was married for 48 years to his wife, Anna (Sehy) Cagney who survives.  He also had three children, Kathleen (Bob) Bauer, Jennifer (Billy) Danley and Garrie (Sarah) Cagney and two step children, Rodney (Chris) Wiles and Kimberly Wiles.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Margaret (Smith) Cagney. And his mother and father in-law, Leonard and Esther(Commissaries) Sehy.

Fred is survived by his wife, his children and his grandchildren who are Jeffrey and Noelle white, Irina Robinson, Bryan (Miranda) Price, Tiffany Hiller, Madison York , Whitney Wiles, Cooper and Charleigh Cagney.  Great grandchildren Dawson, Tucker and Mason Stolter, Oliver Hightower and Bryan Kaleb Price. Two brothers, William (Irene) Cagney and Thomas Cagney, two sisters, Kathy (Spencer) Maidlow and Beth Hoag   and many extended family and friends.

Fred wished to be cremated and will be buried in the Barracas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station. Pensacola, Florida.

The family wishes to thank good friend Lawrence Hiller, the Veterans Administration and Emerald Coast Hospice for all their help in taking care of Fred in his last days.
