Frankie Ann Evans
Our mother, grand-mother, and great-grandmother went to her eternal resting place on 1/21/2018. Ann was born in Jakin, Ga on 9/20/1930 and moved to Panama City in 1941. She graduated from Bay County High School in 1947, attended the University of Georgia, and graduated from Valdosta Women's College in 1950. She married John Marshall Evans in 1952. Ann and Marshall owned and operated Bay Upholstery and Drapery Shop on Cove Boulevard. She retired from the drapery business and went on to substitute teaching at Surfside Elementary for 10 years and was a member of the Bay Medical Auxiliary for 10 years.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Alma Richardson, her husband Marshall Evans, and her sister Deene Powell. Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Lillie Pennington class for over 60 years. She was also a member of the DAR.
Ann is survived by her three sons, John M. Evans Jr.(Loie), of Huntsville, Ala., Gary Evans (Katie), and Jay Evans (Debbie) of Panama City, FL; seven grandchildren Brittany Evans (Matt Miller) Steven Evans (Alexi), Kimberly Evans (Jeff Coatney), Jayson Evans, Adam Evans (Sarah), Lauren Evans (Javier Medina), and John R. Evans and 12 great-grand-children. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 PM - 7 PM at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road. Services will be held Saturday at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 903 East 4th St Panama City, FL at 11:00 am. Burial services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on 23"' St Panama City Fl. Flowers are being accepted or donations can be made to any charity you like in the name of Frankie Ann Evans.
