FRANK WALLACE KENDRICK, SR.
Frank Wallace Kendrick, Sr., of Panama City, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 in his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Kendrick was born December 31, 1921 in Noma, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Daniel and Frances Ola; wife, Edith Kendrick; granddaughter, Stacey Kendrick and grandson, Ryan Kendrick. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Jackie; children: Sylvia Cooper (Glenn), Joyce Moody (Jim), Frank Wallace Kendrick, Jr. (Kathy), Cheryl Kendrick, Pam Ramirez and Rusty Ward; grandchildren, Paige Whitaker (Jeff), Glenn Cooper III, Jay Moody (Amy), John Moody, Amy Miller (Jeremy); great grandchildren, Hunter, Tara, McKenzie, Jake, Kyle, Lauren, Madison; and dear friend, Louise Carswell. He and A.F. (Sonny) Myers owned and operated Kendrick – Myers Motors, later Kendrick – Myers Oldsmobile – Buick then partnering with Rex Rowell operating Kendrick – Rowell. Mr. Kendrick was in the car business for over 60 years.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City since 1958 where he was a member of the LLL Sunday School Class.
Wallace loved golfing and fishing and when younger, quail hunting. There was nothing however that gave him more joy than his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 – 6 p.m.
Asked to serve as active pallbearers: Glenn Cooper III, Jay Moody, John Moody, Jeff Whitaker, Jeremy Miller, Sam Phillips, Hunter Whitaker and Jake Moody. Honorary pallbearers: LLL Sunday School Class, Sonny Myers, Rex Rowell, former employees of Kendrick – Myers – Kendrick Rowell, Frazier Myers, Steve Myers, Cliff Myers, Clay Lewis, Jimmy Marshall, Ronnie Hamlin, Barney Clary, George McCullars and Bryan McCullars.
