Frank Hubbard (Hub) Nelson
(May 15, 1940 - January 2, 2026)
Frank Hubbard (Hub) Nelson of Panama City, Florida passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on January 2, 2026 with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank McGill Nelson and Frances Lee Nelson (Mayers) and his sister, Carol Mills.
Hub survived by his loving wife, Sharon (Brannon) Nelson; his children, Troy Nelson (Nancy), Gil Nelson (Karen) and LeeAnn Sikes (Hugh); Grandchildren, Erica Morgan (Ryan), Brittney Strack (Davis), Brent Trevathan (Brittney), Michael Nelson (Allysa), Lindsey Nelson, Nicholas Nelson (Gabby), Ashton Sikes and Carson Sikes. Great Grandchildren, Lillian Morgan, Brody Trevathan, Scarlett Morgan, Bennett Trevathan, Brayden Sikes, Adaline Nelson, Camille Morgan and Graham Morgan.
He was born and raised in Panama City, Florida with deep roots tracing back to a long line of founding fathers.
He graduated from Bay High School in 1958. He began working with West Florida Gas Company until he moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where he built his business Nelson Propane.
He truly never met a stranger. A prolific joke teller, avid fisherman and natural story teller. Hub had a rare gift: he could turn any room into a gathering and any gathering into a party. He believed life was meant to be enjoyed, Stories were meant to be shared, and a joke was his way to enjoy life with everyone.
In keeping with who Hub was, his family invites all who knew and loved him to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing - to share a story, tell a joke and laugh loud.
A Memorial Service will be held January 16, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home located at
214 Airport Road, Panama City, Florida.
