FRANK STANLEY DIXON
Frank Stanley Dixon of Lynn Haven passed away after a long illness on July 13, 2009, at the Chester Sims VA Nursing Home in Springfield. He was 79.
Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and in the U.S. Air Force, including service in Vietnam. He reached the rank of Senior Master Sergeant before his retirement in 1974 at Tyndall Air Force Base. He then became a Realtor in the Bay County area, where he worked until 1988.
Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Francoise Dixon, who passed in 1979. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Susan Dixon, of Lynn Haven; his son, CDR Jeff Dixon USCG and wife, Julie Dixon, and grandchildren Avery, Luke, and Owen Dixon, of Morehead City, NC; stepdaughter Jamie Roberson and partner Heather Lawson, of Reston, VA; and stepdaughter Kim Sallinger and step grandchildren Tara Sallinger and Michael Sallinger, of Montgomery, AL.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, July 16 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Father Ben Klucinec of St. Dominic's Catholic Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405 or your favorite charity in memory of Frank Dixon.
