Frank C. Brown Jr.
Frank C. Brown Jr., 92, of Lynn Haven, FL, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014. He was born November 4, 1921 in Gadsden, Alabama to Frank C. & Edna Morgan Brown Sr. He served in the Guadalcanal with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been a resident of Panama City since 1968 moving here from Gadsden. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was well known locally as owner of the Surf Hut and Mr. Surf's Surf Shop…lovingly called "Papa Surf". He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Brown Gaddis. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nadine Horton Brown; 2 children, Cy K. Brown, David H. Brown; 2 grandchildren, Frankie Brown, Brandi Brown Albert; brother, John M. Brown; sister, Mary Brown Taylor and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Active pallbearers will be Marvin Glasgow, III, Mike Albert, Johnny Spurlock, Stephen Spurlock, Scott Hess and Carter Hess. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial contributions be made to Big Oak Ranch, P.O. box 507, Springville, AL 35146 in memory of Frank C. Brown Jr.
