FRANCES COTTON FORD

Frances Cotton Ford, of Lynn Haven, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in her home. She was born March 11, 1945 in Panama City to Bernice & Theresa Cotton. In 1972, she began working as a staff pharmacist at Bay Memorial Hospital. She was later appointed Director of Pharmacy at the hospital for over 20 years. After retirement from Bay Medical Center, she went to work as a staff pharmacist for Kmart for 10 years. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and the Bay County Humane Society. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dr. Philip Cotton. She is survived by a son, Ralph Ford and wife, Amanda of Troy, AL; a daughter, Renee Gore of Panama City; 4 grandchildren, Melanie Ford, Abigail Ford, Justin Gore, Ahren Hughes; sister, Bobbye Kochevar; sister-in-law, Salie Cotton and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Leukemia Foundation; Moffitt Cancer Center, or the Bay County Humane Society.
