Frances Yates Dudley passed away peacefully on August, 18, 2019. She was 91 years old, born September 27, 1927 in Vernon, FL. She fell deeply in love with her high school sweetheart and was married for almost 66 years! Her career started as a switchboard telephone operator during World War II. She then worked in retail sales from selling shoes to clothing. After retirement, she greatly enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, college football, and golf. She was well known for her potato salad and pot roast as she was a fabulous cook, as well as a wonderful woman and mother! Her children and family always came before herself. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out!
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Dudley and sons, Jimmy and Greg Dudley. Left to cherish her memory are: daughters, Barbara Weeks (Andrew) and Renee Bush (Daniel); four grandchildren, Michelle Holland (Scott), Christopher Bush (Becky), Amber Purser (Rich) and Jonelle Womble (Mike); five great grandchildren, CJ, Abbi, Josh, Bella and Marlee.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at 3634 T Street. Graveside service will be held at 1 pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Thursday. The family would like to extend a special thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Covenant Hospice as well as all nurses and caregivers.
