FLORRIE TEAL HUTTO
Florrie Teal Hutto, 86, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 26th after a lengthy illness. She was born in Elamville, Alabama having lived in Ariton and Ozark, Alabama finally moving to Panama City in 1969 with her late husband, Jack Hutto and family. She and her husband were one of the early pioneers of the development of Panama City Beach in the mid 1960s. She retired from the hospitality business in 1972 and spent her remaining years in travel, gardening her beautiful flowers, and enjoying her family. She was devoted to her family and very proud of her children's accomplishments in education and professional development. She was equally proud of her Native American Indian heritage tracing her roots back to William Powell, also known as Osceola. She spent many years in following her roots and sharing all with her children, grand children and great grandchildren giving each of them very special Indian names.
She is survived by her sons, Dr Jack H. Hutto and his wife, Suzy of St Petersburg, Florida, Bill R. Hutto and his wife, Stacey of Panama City, Florida, daughter, Barbara Glover and her husband, Ron Glover of Pensacola, and Joe Hutto and his wife, Lucy of Alpharetta, Georgia. Grandchildren include Dr Sarah Shaeffer of Colorado Springs Colorado, Ashley Hutto of New York City, Jaime Hutto of Alpharetta, Georgia, Ross Hutto of Tallahassee, Florida, Christa Glover of Pensacola, Florida, and Haley Hutto of Panama City, Florida. Great Grandchildren include Hannah Hutto of Alpharetta, Georgia and Mia, Jackson and Mae Shaeffer of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
A family service will be held Saturday at 12 noon in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Special thanks go to her very special care givers and Dr Tim Smith who provided the best in care and support during her illness along with Covenant Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Covenant Hospice of Panama City.
