EVELYN HORTENSE KIRKLAND

Evelyn Hortense Kirkland, 85, of Panama City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2007. She was born February 6, 1921 in Noma, Florida to William Sanford & Sallie Blue Williams. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy Marlon Kirkland, daughter, Sharon Kirkland Goodlake and a brother, Bill Williams Jr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. She is survived by 2 sons, Bobby S. Kirkland and wife, Ellen of Panama City; Marlon Kirkland and wife, Cindy; of Southport ; sister, Helen Hill and husband, Tony of Parker, FL; brother, Earl Williams and wife, Eva of Chipley, FL; sister-in-law, Virginia Williams of Bonifay, FL; 5 grandchildren, Todd Kirkland and wife, Anna of Youngstown, FL; Leslie Earnest and husband, Russ of Tallahassee, FL; Rebecca (Bea) Skipper and husband Brent of Lynn Haven; Dennis Marlon Kirkland of Graceville, FL; Sarah L. Kirkland of Southport; 5 great grandchildren, Colin Earnest, Evan Earnest, Lane Earnest, Samara Kirkland, Hanna Kirkland; son-in-law, Joe D. Goodlake and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven with Rev. Tom Daniels and Rev. Jeff Carney officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Saturday. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Children's ministry at First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. Active pallbearers are Russ Earnest, Todd Kirkland, Brent Skipper, Dennis Kirkland, Rob Williams, and Duane Randall. Honorary pallbearers are Sandy Williams, Laird Williams, Richard Williams, Robert Hill, and John Hill.
