Evelyn Capps Duncan

June 2, 1928 – September 1, 2025

Evelyn Duncan left this earth on September 1, 2025, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. She was wife of Joe Gibson Duncan, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents Emma and Tesco Capps, daughter Jo Knight and her four sisters, Francis, Bobbie, Margaret, and Sandra.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law Robert and Ann Duncan, James and Angela Duncan. Her grandchildren, Robin Jones and husband Matt, Jon Duncan and wife Chelsea and Christopher Duncan and wife Olivia, Coleman Duncan and wife Carissa and Carly Duncan. Her great grandchildren, Stella, Andrew, Gabriel and Azalea. Son-in-law Steve Knight. Sister-in-law Ada Duncan. Cousin Henry King and wife Edith. Many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Her beloved dog Honey.

Evelyn Duncan was born in Panama City and live there for most of her life. She graduated from Bay High School in Panama City. She was employed by First National Bank in Panama City, later became the office manager for Newburn Realty and eventually a realtor.  She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, previously Wallace Memorial Presbyterian.  She was a member of her church choir. As one of her family members noted, she was a host of southern hospitality. She loved cooking and planning meals for family and friends. She loved entertaining. She liked sewing and baking custom cakes. She loved flowers, gardening, music, and spending time with her dog, Honey.

A future Celebration of Life is being planned to honor Evelyn at a future date. Prayers for the family are appreciated.
