ETHEL KENNON COOPER

Ethel Kennon Cooper, 96 passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011in Webster, Texas. She was born in Atlanta, Ga. in July 1915. She lived in Atlanta until after she married George B. Cooper in 1936. They moved to Cordele, Ga. where she had a daughter, Madeline Josephine Cooper and then moved to Panama City, Fl. in 1941. She helped her husband in Cooper's Drugs for many years. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cousin. She also took care of her Mom for 30 years after she also moved to Panama City. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church for many years. She and George moved to Houston, Texas in 1978 to be close to her son, daughter in law and her grandchildren. She was very active in Westbury Baptist Church and their senior group called "XYZ" for many years after moving to Houston. She loved her family and loved to travel with her husband of 62 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Cooper, her daughter, Madeline Josephine (Don) Brown; her mother and father, Farris Almond (Beulah H.) Kennon Sr., her sister and brother in law, Frances K. (Floyd) Caskey; her brother, Farris A. Kennon, Jr. and her nephew, John W. Caskey.

She is survived by her son, George L. (Lynn) Cooper; grandson, Russ (Anastacia) Cooper and their daughter, Anabella, granddaughter, Cathy (James) DeMouy and their sons, Lane, Caven and Chase; niece, Mary Frances (David) Bowen and their children, Michael Bowen and Daniel (Kim) Bowen; nephew, Don (Alice) Caskey and their daughter, Angel (Jamie) Stewart, nephew, Bill (Judy) Caskey and their daughters, Michelle and Jennifer, niece, Carolyn C. Brown and sons, Chris, Eric and Marc, cousin Robert (Jeri Lee)Weaver and many great great grandnieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 14, 2011 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials can also be in her name to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Patriot Guard Riders. Active pallbearers will be Andy McKenzie, Lorie McElheney, Randall McElheney, Mike Nelson, Neil McKenzie and Jimmy Harrison.
