ERNESTINE HUDSON WILLIAMS

Ernestine Hudson Williams, 83, of Lynn Haven, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in her home. She was born September 20, 1928 in Chipley, Florida to George & Lillie Mae Hudson, the youngest of six children. She graduated from Florida State University, where she majored in Elementary Education and then taught school for over 30 years. Mrs. Williams was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City, the Asbury Sunday School Class, Naomi Circle of United Methodist Women and the Faire Ladies of First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Panama City Woman's Club, St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club Auxiliary, Petit Point Club and a lifetime member of Mary Mathison Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lee Williams. She is survived by her son, Ray Williams and wife Kathy; two daughters, Marie Halvatzis and husband Greg, Kathy Mangieri and husband Fran; grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Brent Williams (Becky), Macie Williams (Erik Gerace), Jimmy Halvatzis (Sandra), Christina Papazis (Petros), Lee Mangieri (Lindsay), Jenny Lynn (Alfredo Martinez), Amanda Lynn; great grandchildren, Troy Mangieri, Heath Lynn, Sophia Papazis, Jaden Gerace, Graysen Williams; nieces and nephew, Becky Clem and husband Richard, Mary Ann Jordan and Ben Braxton and wife Marilyn as well as many other family members. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Panama City with Rev. Steve Rascoe officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 – 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. The family would like to thank Dr. Donna Weber at M.D. Anderson, the staff at the Myeloma Clinic at M.D. Anderson, the staff at Emerald Coast Hospice as well as her caregivers, Sarah McCarn, Shirley Carson, Barbara Travis and her granddaughter, Macie Williams. Those desiring may make memorial donations to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Myeloma Cancer Research, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 in memory of Ernestine Williams. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:7. Mrs. Williams will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
