Ernestine Kelley Berklite

Ernestine Kelley Berklite passed away peacefully November 14, 2010. She was born May 10, 1929, in Evergreen, Alabama, and moved to Panama City with her family in 1934. Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ruth Kelley. Ernestine is survived by her spouse, Donald Berklite, and her stepdaughter, Joanna (Robert) Lawson and grandson, Joey Lawson. She is survived by her siblings Helen Kelley McGee, Mildred Kelley Nelson, and James D. (Liisa) Kelly, and by nieces and nephews to whom she was an inspiration and positive influence throughout their lives: DeVane (Mary) McGee, Ronnie (Norma) McGee, Judy Kelly, Becki (Bob) Swartz, Danny (Stacy) Nelson, Angie (Kevin) Mitchum, and 12 great nieces and nephews.
Ernestine retired from Civil Service at Tyndall Air Force Base in 1987. She was an active member of First Assembly of God and a Sunday School teacher for over 60 years. She served God and others faithfully throughout her lifetime, touching many lives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 18 at the First Assembly of God of Panama City, with Rev. Phil Edwards, Rev. James D. Kelly, Rev. DeVane McGee, and Rev. Bob Claycomb officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
