ELIZABETH HASTINGS LEWIS
Elizabeth Hastings Lewis, 81 passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in Gainesville. She was born August 20, 1926 in Wattsville, VA. She had been a Panama City resident since 1973.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richmond Roy Lewis, two sons and daughter-in-laws; Gregory and Dee Lewis of Mechanicsville, MD and William and Hatsuyo Lewis of Milton, FL, two daughters; Linda Lewis of Pasadena, MD and Wanda Broadway of Orlando, FL; a sister; Willie Elliott of Wattsville, VA. She is preceded in death by her sister, Estelle Matthews and brother, Rhodes Hastings. She has 5 grandchildren, Michele and her husband BJ, Colby, Dallas, Yukio, and Melissa. She has 3 great grandchildren Preston, Chase, and Mia.
She was a member of the Tyndall Ladies Golf Association for many years and in her early years she worked as a secretary and book keeper. She then was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road, Panama City, FL. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Stroke Association, 9707 East Easter Lane, Centennial, CO 80112, www.stroke.org or the American Cancer Society.
