Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Ashbrook, 94, of Panama City, FL passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2018 and is now in the presence of her Lord. She was born on November 14, 1923 in Akron, Ohio to James and Ida Black. She was a dedicated member of Heritage Bible Church where the church family was her central focus. She spent much of her life as a dedicated Air Force wife. She enjoyed living in many interesting places in the U.S. and abroad. She was loyal to her family as they moved from place to place. After settling in Panama City she worked for many years as a secretary at Commercial Bank forming many friendships along the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Ashbrook and one grandson, Robert Paul Groeteke. She is survived by three children, Ginny Groeteke (Bob), Joseph A. Ashbrook (Connie), Kim Adams (Robert); six grandchildren, Michael Groeteke (Nichole), Matthew Groeteke ( Jackie), Justin Ashbrook ( Holli), Brianne Biddle (Mark), Kyle Adams, Kevin Adams; seven great grandchildren, Drake, Gage, Raiden, Matthew, Joshua, Trent, Kendra; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was devoted to those who cared for her at the Beehive Assisted Living Home and formed many friendships there. They became a part of her extended family. Her family is thankful for them as well as the caring staff at Covenant Care. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00AM at Heritage Bible Church with Rev. Henry Hazard and Rev. Brian Rice officiating. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6-8PM.
