IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eleanor Glenn
Nash Torgersen

Eleanor Glenn Nash Torgersen
Glenn Torgersen left her earthly home for her final heavenly destination on January 27, 2019. She was a native Floridian, born and raised in Palmetto, FL. At Palmetto High, she excelled in academics and became her class valedictorian. Glenn's achievements earned her a scholarship to Florida State University in 1947. It was there she met the love of her life, Tom Torgersen, of Panama City. The couple were wed in 1948 and remained married for 67 years until Tom's passing in 2015.
Glenn was a child of the depression era and World War II, so she never took any blessing for granted, especially our country. Like her veteran husband, she was a true patriot. She selflessly raised an infant son alone while her Navy husband was deployed during the Korean conflict.
Glenn was a vibrant member of First Baptist Church of Panama City and a devout life-long follower of Jesus Christ. She glorified the Lord through her roles as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in her church community, in service and fellowship with her friends and in her time as a Sunday School teacher in earlier years.
She was rich in life with many friends. She especially enjoyed her lunches and events with the ladies at First Baptist Church, her sister-in-law Ingrid Torgersen Warren, and her shopping "partner in crime," Maxine Colmery. Her Deacon, Glenn Alligood and his wife Judy were a special blessing to her. She always reminded family and friends of the beauty of God's creation; she admired His craftsmanship in nature and had a special fondness for the beauty of St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. She was an accomplished fisherman of her day!
In the end, her focus was always very clear: a love for God, country and family. A fruitful life well lived. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Glenn is survived by son Tom Torgersen (Hope) of Pensacola, granddaughter Erin Torgersen Barger (Corey) and great grandchildren Kevin and Logan; son Todd Torgersen (Gayle) of Gulf Breeze, granddaughter Mallory Torgersen Eskridge (Andy) and grandson Reid Torgersen; and sister Rose Nash Vickers (Bill) of Bradenton.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. CST. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am prior to the service.
