Edna Mae (Madie) Lindsey

Edna Mae (Madie) Lindsey, 96, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She was born on March 18, 1916 in Headland, Alabama to Walter Beech and Cecil Farmer Hamm. She married Herman L. Lindsey and was a lifelong resident of Panama City. She was a wonderful mother to her three sons, Dan (Kaeko) of Opua, New Zealand; Doug (Alyce) and Joe Carl (Nancy) of Panama City. She had seven grandchildren, Jill Newitt (Tim) of Santa Rosa, Fl. Brandi Garrett (David) of Bonaire, Ga., Danny Lindsey (Deedre), Jodi Floyd (James), Jason Lindsey (Stefania) and Gary Lindsey (Tracy) all of Utah and Kaysea Lindsey of Panama City. She was blessed with many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lindsey, two sisters, Myrtle Fouraker and Effie Daffin, four brothers, Hulon Hamm, Pete Hamm, Walter B. Hamm, Jr. and William Hamm.
Madie was an active member of the LDS church. She graduated from Bay High School and worked at Wayside Florist and raised her family until she joined her husband in the family business, Lindsey Store Fixtures. She was loved by all that knew her and always gave to those that needed it. She was a devoted mother, wife and "Nanny" and loved her church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Wilson Funeral Home with John Harrison officiating. A private family graveside will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service. Anyone wish to honor Madie may make a donation to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or to Covenant Hospice.
