Edna "Sue" Allen
Mrs. Edna "Sue" Allen, 97, died Friday June 15, 2012 at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee, FL.
Mrs. Allen was born April 8th, 1915 in Bessemer, AL. She and her husband Pete moved to Southport, FL in 1968 where they lived for 30 years. Mrs. Allen resided in Tallahassee for the past 15 years.
She loved cooking, sewing, card games, and watching her beloved Atlanta Braves. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven for over 30 years.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Preston "Pete" Allen. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Lawrence Crawford of Tallahassee; son, Richard Allen of Sugarloaf Key; 3 grandchildren, Chrisy Crawford Scarlett (Tom), Staci Allen Staples (John), and Cathy Crawford LaTulipe (Don); and 6 great-grandchildren, Tommy and Catie Scarlett, Addison and Alli Staples and Taylor and Townsend LaTulipe.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 18, at 1:00 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m. on Monday before the service. Those desiring to may, in lieu of flowers, make a donation to Big Bend Hospice House, 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32308-5428.
