EDITH LYNETTE PELHAM KIRKLAND
Edith Lynette Pelham Kirkland, 77, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in her home. She was born on September 6, 1930 in Slocomb, Alabama and graduated as valedictorian of Slocomb High School. She received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Troy State and received her Masters degree in Science and Education from Florida State University. She was a retired teacher and counselor at Lucille Moore Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Kirkland, daughter, Jennifer Canfield and her husband Michael, of Summerville, South Carolina, son, David Kirkland and his wife Teresa, of Panama City, four grandchildren, Catherine Canfield, William Canfield, Shannon Lautner, Michael Kirkland, five sisters, Ruth Meadows, Mildred Enfinger and her husband Carl, Jean Vickers, all of Dothan, Alabama, Frances Creel, Elvie Collins and her husband Hilton, all of Tallahassee and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 1116 Frankford Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401 or to your favorite charity in memory of Edith Kirkland.
