DWIGHT P. RUDOLPH, SR.

Dwight P. Rudolph Sr., born February 29, 1924 in New Albany, Mississippi, passed away on November 10, 2012 at a local nursing facility. Mr. Rudolph moved to Panama City as a young boy, and attended Panama Grammar School, Bay High School, and Auburn University. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Rudolph worked the majority of his professional career as an electronics specialist at Tyndall Air Force Base. He was an active member of Forest Park United Methodist Church and a member of the Christian Homebuilders Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Mary Ann Rudolph and Gwen Mapelsden Rudolph. He is survived by four sons, Dwight P. Rudolph Jr. of Denver, Colorado, Roy F. Rudolph (Celia) of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Jean M. Rudolph (Susan) of Panama City, and Joseph M. Rudolph (Marianne) of Panama City, a step daughter, Dana Mapelsden of Panama City, and nine grandchildren. Two special friends, Mrs. Pinnie Hunter and Colonel Cary Thompson, also survive Mr. Rudolph.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11 A.M. and with Dr. John Friedman officiating . The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to the graveside. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Rick Snellgrove, Buz Martinez, Ted Davison, Carl Morse, Pat Donovan, and Alton Colvin. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Forest Park United Methodist Church Building Program.

The family thanks the talented, dedicated and incredibly compassionate Panama City medical professionals who have taken care of our father for the past several years.
