Douglas W. Whitfield, 72, of Panama City, went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 3, 2020 with loving thoughts and prayers from his family. Doug was born on February 19, 1948 in Panama City, FL. He attended Springfield Elementary School, Everitt Junior High School, and was a 1966 graduate of Rutherford Highschool. He was a lifelong plumber and former owner of American Plumbing and Construction Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Winifred Whitfield. Those left to cherish his memory includes his daughter, Heidi Fowler; his son-in-law, Kenneth Fowler; his granddaughter, Holly Jordan (Scott); great granddaughters, Raeleigh Hill and Emily Jordan; his partner in life, Pam Martin; brother, Preston Whitfield (Quin); sisters, Linda McNeil and Joanie Evans (Bill); as well as his nieces and nephews. Also his three cats. The family will always remember him with smiles and laughter as we all loved him so very much. His legacy is one of honor.  "Perhaps they are not the stars but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy." A celebration of life service will be held at a later date and announced by Wilson Funeral Home.
