DOROTHY MAE JONES CANNON
Dorothy Mae Jones Cannon, 85, of Panama City, died Monday, September 14, 2009 in her home. She was born June 16, 1924 in Fountain, Florida and lived most of her life in Panama City. She worked in the time office of International Paper Co and was a retired bookkeeper in businesses owned by she and her husband. She was a lifetime member of the Millville Advent Christian Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Womens Home and Foreign Mission Society. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raymond Richard Cannon, Sr. and her parents; Edgar L. and Alma W. Jones. She is survived by her son, Raymond R. Cannon, Jr.; daughter, Laurie Cannon; sister, Patsy Knowles and sister-in-law, Carolyn Cannon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 or to the Millville Advent Christian Church Building Fund, 2220 E 3rd Street, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Dorothy Cannon.
