Dorothy "Dot" Smith Burnham

Dorothy "Dot" Smith Burnham went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2007. She was born in Eufaula, Alabama and graduated from Louisville High School. She moved to Panama City with her husband and daughter in 1952. She worked as the credit manager for Belk Hudson Department Store for a number of years and also worked for Gayfer's (later Dillard's) as a decorator in the home store. For the last six years she was part of the staff of Abigayle's Interiors. Her awards and commendations over the years signaled Dot as one of Bay County's most loved and admired decorators.

She is predeceased by her parents H. Bowman and Nannie Vinson Smith of Eufaula, her husband of 64 years, Charlie J. Burnham, a young son Jeff Burnham, two brothers, J. Edward Smith and E. Wayne Smith.

Dot is survived by her daughter, Tracy Burnham Burt, grandson John Burt and wife Heather, granddaughter Anne-Michael Eberhardt and husband David, great-grandson Fletcher Henry Eberhardt. She is also survived by two sisters, Verna Williams and Jajuania Garrett (George), sisters-in-law Fran Edwards (Cecil), Marion Oswald (Carlton), Gwen Granger, and Sybil Jones and loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, January 5 from 6-8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home. The service will be in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 6 at 11 AM with the Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the One Heart Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Panama City.
