Doris Garrison Plough left this world peacefully on May 18, 2016, with her daughters by her side. She was born in Wilcox County Georgia on January 19, 1925. She moved with her family to Panama City after high school graduation. She met the love of her life, Marlin Plough and they were married in 1942. She was an active member of Callaway Methodist Church for over 70 years and played the piano for 60 of those years. She also attended Wallace Memorial Church during part of this time as a member of the Lauren Merriam Sunday School Class.
Doris and Marlin settled in Callaway and raised 3 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Marlin and a son, Joel Plough. She is survived by her two daughters, Connie P. Morris (Terry) of Panama City and Kathy P. Steward of Atlanta. She is also survived by her granddaughter Marlene Morris-Bland (Keith), three great-grandchildren, Garrison, John Andrew, Ileana; her brother Alva Garrison (Argie), special niece Regina (Joey Blair); many many other nieces and nephews throughout the southeast. The family would like to thank her care givers Joni Masters and Dottie Gay for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Johnny Findlay, Steve Richards, Ronnie Plough, David Steward, Joey Blair, Jack Reid, and Matthew Reid.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations to Covenant Care Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405 or to the St Andrew Baptist Church Center of Hope, 3101-B West Hwy 98, Panama City, FL 32405 be considered in her memory.
