It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our mother, Doris Marie Dotson.  She passed away peacefully in her home on Friday November 11, 2022. She was born in Atmore Alabama and enjoyed a life of travel with her loving husband of 44 years, Charlie, during his Air Force career. They finally planted roots in Panama City, Florida in 1969. Marie retired in the early 1990's after working more than 20 years in the civil service accounting office. She took great pride in her work and her accomplishments and was known to be a strong defender for the underdog. Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  She loved her poker games, crossword puzzles and bingo. Her life was filled with the joy of family, friends, and laughter. Above all she had a strong faith in God. On the days she couldn't attend church, you'd find her at home with an open Bible watching the Sunday sermons on TV.  We will miss her tremendously and we look forward to the day we are all reunited.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles Edward Dotson.

She is survived by her three children: Tina Menna ( Michael), Renata Harris (Frank), and Charles Dotson; her ten grandchildren: Jeremy (Hanna), Frankie (Deborah), Brad (Gabbie), Michael, Nicholas, Christina, Joey, Montana (Rick), Hayden, and Haley; her twelve great grandchildren: CJ, Kylie, Kyndall, Kynslee, Ava, Jack, Malaya, Rick Ill, Leilani, Houston, Legacie, and Aice; her sister Patricia Smith, her brother Marvin Harrell, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House in memory of Doris Dotson. Link to donate is below:
