Donald Troy Poffenberger

Don Poffenberger of Lynn Haven, FL went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 25, 2024. He was 94 years young. Don was born  December 27, 1929 in Indian Springs, Maryland to the late Delbert and Evelyn (Hovermale) Puffinberger. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, June Seale Poffenberger, by his siblings, Ann Clingerman, Grace Puffinberger, Beverly Shipway, Robin Dolly, Theodore Puffinburger and Richard Puffinberger.  Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy Poffenberger and Ginger Harbison; his brother, Charles Puffinberger; sister-in-law, Betty Puffinberger; son-in-law, Joe Harbison;  many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Karla Kahle and Jessie Black; Jay Harbison, Matt and Mynta Harbison and his "little men", John Parker and Jake Harbison. Don was a Vietnam Veteran with thirty years of Air Force service. He also worked on the hovercraft at the Panama City Beach Navy Lab. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He left a positive impact on everyone he met with his kind smile. He was a hard worker, whose nickname was Roadrunner. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 30, 2024 at 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Lynn Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Harbison, John Parker Harbison, Jake Harbison, Jordan Kahle, Morgan Black, and Kevin Shoemake. The family will forever be grateful to Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Adhal, Gulf Coast Community Hospital, Vitas Hospice, our angels, Monique Barnes and Lue Retha Lightfoot for their compassionate care of Don. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Don's name to the Bay County Council on Aging and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
