DONALD JOSEPH BEREY
Donald Joseph Berey, 66, of Panama City Beach, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 4, 1943 in Louisiana. He had been a resident of Bay County since 2002, moving from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He retired from Georgia Power after 35 years of working as a Dispatcher. After moving to Panama City Beach, he worked in customer services at Edgewater Beach Resort. He was a member of the Baptist Church of East Point, Georgia. He was known as a hard worker and was a devoted father and friend. He is survived by his wife, Carol Berey; two children, Donald Clinton Berey and wife, Sharon, Holly Berey Williams and husband Shane Lee; one granddaughter, Caroline Laney Williams; mother, Alfia Berey and two brothers, Bill Berey, Ron Berey and wife Sandra. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 4001 W 23rd Street, Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405 or to the Panama City Rescue Mission, 609 Allen Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Donald Berey. The family would like to thank St. Andrew Health and Rehabilitation for their excellent care.
