DEREK EDWARD McCOMAS
Derek Edward McComas, age 11, of Wewahitchka, died unexpectedly Friday, January 18, 2008. He was born on January 25, 1996 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was in the 6th grade at Wewahitchka Middle School. He was a sports buff and loved hunting and fishing. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Alisa and Mark Mugridge, father and stepmother, Dewayne and Gina McComas, two siblings, Blake McComas, Braedin Mugridge, step brother, Jack Mugridge, step sisters, Megan Mugridge, Ashley Johnson, step brothers, Avery Rogers, Ryan Rogers, grandparents, Larry and Peggy Bruce, Sam and Sophie Lankford, Jay and Marguerite McComas, Paula Rogers, great grandmothers, Nadine Wilma Luke, Louise Lankford, Winnie Rogers and numerous other close relatives. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wewahitchka Elementary School, 514 East River Road, Wewahitchka, FL 32465.
