Denslow Allerton Trumbull, Jr., 79, died at University Hospital in Birmingham, AL on September 5, 2007. He was born September 13, 1927 in Birmingham. After attending Phillips High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps. Upon moving to Panama City, Fl in 1950, he purchased Culligan Water Conditioning and was active in its operation until his death. He was a multiple recipient of the Circle of Excellence Award of Culligan International.
He was Past President of the Panama City Lions Club, Past Exalted Ruler of the Panama City Elks Club, Past Director Bay Bank & Trust, Past Chairman of Panama City Recreation Board, Chairman of Panama City Housing Authority and member since 1982, member of the Bay Medical Advisory Board, member of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, and active for 30 years in youth activities & Little League Baseball.
Den Trumbull was preceded in death by his late wife, Joan Heron Trumbull and his sister, Rosamond Trumbull Stout. He is survived by his wife, Illa Trumbull, his sister Ann Trumbull Hawkins, and his children, Den A. Trumbull, III of Montgomery, AL and wife, Nancy; Patricia Trumbull Wilkerson of St. Petersburg, FL and husband, DeWitt; Jay N. Trumbull of Panama City, and wife Tammy; his grandchildren, Allison Joy Trumbull, Amy Lee Trumbull, Julia Joan Trumbull, Denslow A. Trumbull, IV, and Kelly Katherine Trumbull of Montgomery, AL; Todd DeWitt Wilkerson, Whitney Ann Wilkerson, and Ryan Trumbull Wilkerson of Saint Petersburg, Fl; Jay Norbert Trumbull, Jr., Emily Elizabeth Trumbull, and Sarah Catherine Trumbull of Panama City, Fl.; his nieces and nephews Gary Stout, Susan Charman, Michael Hawkins, and Karen Hawkins. Step-children David Foster and wife, Olga; Lori Racicot and husband, Danny; step grandchildren Ben Voeltz and wife, Stephanie; Matt Voeltz, Rebecca Voeltz, Sarah Foster, Tracy Foster, Alex Foster, and Katie Foster; step-great grandchildren, Adam Foster, Wayne Foster and Christa Foster.
Visitation will be Friday, September 7, from 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home in Panama City. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 8, at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church with a graveside service following in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Panama City Lions Club.
Pallbearers include Gerry Clemons, James Barnes, Harold Bazzell, Ed Downs, Alonzo Hudgins, John Robert Middlemas, Bill Gaddie and Johnny Patronis. Honorary pallbearers include Lions Club members, the Elks Club members, and employees of Culligan Water Services.
