Deborah Murphy, 82, of Panama City, FL passed away on May 17, 2026.
She was born January 18, 1944 to Virginia Barry in Boston, Massachusetts and raised in a loving home by her mother, Mary Forsberg (Grandmother/Nana) and Caroline & Richard Mathey. She pursued her passion for children through her long career as an early childhood special education teacher. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, George Murphy, loving mother, Virginia Barry and a devoted sister, Joanne Smith.
She is survived by her cherished daughters, Beth Schulz (Greg), Amy Edge; grandchildren, Nathan Schulz, Sarah Logan (Darian), Meghan Schulz, Erin Schulz, Hannah Edge and Emily Edge; great grandchild, D.J. Logan; sister Suzanne Lynch (Jim); brother Bud Mathey, and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and extended family members.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday May 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Saint Bernadette Catholic Church . The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Schulz, Darian Logan, Greg Schulz, Andrew Mathey Gross, Jordan Browning, Uli Castro Val, and Jim Lynch.
The family is grateful for the love and care provided during this difficult time.
