DEAN FOX PELTON

Dean Fox Pelton, 87, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 in a local nursing home. He had been a resident of Panama City since 2003. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Blanche Fox Pelton and Warren Benjamin Pelton on October 17, 1918. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1936 in Lakewood, Ohio and the University of Florida in 1942 with a degree in accounting and was a loyal Gator fan. He worked for a CPA firm in Cleveland, Ohio, and was comptroller of a railroad in Marquette, Michigan before moving to Miami, Florida in 1954. He continued his work as a CPA and belonged to several accounting organizations. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. His parents and wife of 55 years, Vera Broeker Pelton, preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Sally Mathis and her husband Russ of Panama City, Florida, Terry Rissier and her husband Henry of Silverthorne, Colorado, four grandchildren, Roger Mathis and his wife Tara, Matt Mathis and his wife Molly of Alpharetta, Georgia, Warren Rissier and his wife Jennifer, Elizabeth Rissier of Los Angeles, California, six great grandchildren, one niece, Gale Johnson, and her husband Ken of Frisco, Colorado. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion, Ohio. The family would like to thank the staff of Glencove Nursing Pavilion for their compassionate care.
