Mr. Darnell Morrow Scarbrough, 82, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Gulf Coast Hospital. He was born in Jena, Alabama on December 7, 1925 and was drafted into the armed forces at the age of 19. While serving in France during World War II, he met and married his surviving wife of 62 years, Andree Scarbrough. He continued to serve his country and retired after 28 years of duty in 1971 making Callaway, FL his home. He was a member St. Bernadette's Catholic Church. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Andree Scarbrough; brother, John W. Scarbrough and his family of Tuscaloosa, AL, two daughters, Frances Carey, and her husband Robert Carey of Panama City, FL; Christine Pryor and her husband, Robert Pryor; of Panama City, FL; four grandchildren; Aimee Kennedy and her husband Christopher of Meridian, MS; Nikki Sullivan, of Panama City, FL Alicia Rinehart and her husband Wade, of Panama City, FL; Aaron Smith and wife Tiffany of Southport, FL; six great grandchildren, Austin and Amanda Sullivan, Marla and Makaela Rinehart , Brienne and Aidan Kennedy. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 16 at 1:15 p.m. in the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m.
