Daniel Maurice Sowell Sr., 92, of Panama City, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026. He was born February 9, 1934 to Arthur Eugene Sowell and Elizabeth Chavers Sowell in Panama City, FL.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He retired from Arizona Chemical Co after 30 years as a Lab Technician.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Iris Cain Sowell. He is survived by a son, Dan Sowell (Cheryl); a daughter, Susan Sowell; and granddaughter, Casey Clark (James).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Beach officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideon’s International, PO Box 685, Panama City, Florida 32402 in memory of Daniel Maurice Sowell Sr.
