Dan Darryll Rainey, 67, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 in his home. He was born on May 27, 1947 in Newnan, Georgia. He was a 1965 graduate of Newnan High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan. He was a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge No. 429 of Sargent, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Rainey and nephew Scott Rainey. He is survived by his son, Craig Rainey (Karen); two grandchildren, Cannon Rainey, Adelyn Rainey; former wife and mother of Craig, Lynn Sarno; sister-in-law, Judy Rainey; nephew, Rusty Rainey; niece, Ann Hastings; and companion and friend, Susan Knowles and family. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Wilson of Lisbon Baptist Church of Fayetteville, GA officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 – 1 p.m. prior to the service. Flowers may be received at the chapel and donations are welcome to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).
