C. Stephen Malone
C. Stephen Malone, 60, of Panama City Beach, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Mr. Malone was born in Polk County, Georgia on May 31, 1948 to the late Curtis L. Malone and Agnes G. Malone. He had been a resident of Panama City Beach since 1989 moving here from Rockmart and Dalton, Georgia. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church and sang with the choir there. Mr. Malone graduated from the University of Georgia with a B. A. in English and received his J. D. in Law from Emory University. He was an accomplished attorney for 35 years being a member of the Georgia and Florida Bars. He owned and operated the Silver Sands Motel from 1989 to 1995 and was employed by the City of Panama City as the Director of Planning, Land Use and Code Enforcement from 1996 to 2000. He was preceded in death by an only son, Clint Stephen Malone, his parents, and his grandparents, Dave and Ruth Malone, Clarence and Pauline Gilley.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Judy H. Malone, Panama City Beach, daughter-in-law Jennifer S. Malone, Vero Beach, and brother, Timothy I. Malone and wife Sharon, of Rockmart, Georgia. Two grandchildren, Jackson Stephen Malone and Mary Kathryn Elizabeth Malone, along with two nephews, Timothy and Elijah Malone also survive him.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. EST on Monday, November 3 at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach, Florida.
Pallbearers include Ron Morgan, Melvin Lauderdale, Joey Schlitt, Billy Tolson, Mike Protz, and Glenn Campbell.
