Art Chambers, 83, of Panama City Beach, FL passed away on Sunday February 11, 2018. He was born in Pekin, Illinois. After graduating from Kent State University High School, Art enlisted in the Air Force. He was selected for OCS and then trained as a navigator. He served two tours in Southeast Asia. In 1974, Art arrived at Tyndall to work in Test Ops. He was then assigned to the Pentagon and after was base commander at Hancock Field, NY. Col. Chambers finished his 33 year career at NORAD Command in North Bay, Ontario. Since returning to Panama City, Art has been pursuing his two passions, golf and reading. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn; son, Kevin Chambers (Lois); two daughters, Karen Synnett (Jeff) and Kathryn Baldwin; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janice Caplan. Art was not only a respected leader, but a true patriot and our hero. Memorial services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
