Clifford W. Sanborn, Jr., 85, of Port St. Joe, FL, moved on to greener pastures on June 25, 2016. He was born March 5, 1931, in Carrabelle, FL.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1951, is a proud veteran of the Korean War, and honorably discharged in 1954. He returned to Carrabelle, FL, where he met and married the true love of his life, Martha P. Sanborn. They moved to Port St. Joe, FL, where he worked as a Chemist at St. Joe Paper Company until he retired in 1996. He spent his retirement traveling with his wife and friends, enjoying his children and grandchildren, and spending countless hours everyday in his backyard and garden. He loved spending time at his pasture in Carrabelle, tending to cattle, fishing, hunting, camping, and being outdoors. His garden was legendary in the local community and beyond. His produce was shared with anyone who came in contact with him. His love and wisdom will be missed by so many. He NEVER quit!
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha, and is survived by his children: Robbie, Sandy (Vicky), and Pam; grandchildren: Sarah, Owen, Rachel, Luke and Augie. Nieces and nephews: Robert Smith, Eugene Sanborn, Ginger Sanborn, and Keith Sanborn.
Pallbearers: Walter Wilder, Jimmy Harrison, Rick Williams, Holton Harders, Chip Garrett, Raye Bailey, Robert Smith, David Pugh and Davis Stoutamire.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28th at First United Methodist Church in Port St. Joe, FL, at 2:00pm EST with a memorial service to follow at 3:00pm EST. Interment will be at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, FL, immediately following the service. Arrangements made by Wilson Funeral Home, Panama City, FL.
