Clifford "Gene" Flannagan, 50, of Youngstown, FL, formerly of Metropolis, IL, died in his home on November 13, 2014 due to complications from pancreatic cancer.
Gene is survived by his wife, Deborah (Bard) Flannagan, formerly of Metropolis, IL. Daughter, Amanda Corbitt and husband Ruben of Panama City, FL. Son, Alan Flannagan of Panama City, FL. Step-daughter Barbara Malone and husband James of Calvert City, KY. Mother Lenora "Betty" Flannagan, brothers Robert Flannagan and wife Barbara; David Flannagan and wife Gayle; and sister, Sheila Dickey and husband Steve. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Matthew Corbitt, Connor Corbitt, and Serena Corbitt and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Flannagan.
Gene was born in Meridian, MS on February 28, 1964. He was a 1982 graduate of Massac County High School in Metropolis, IL. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He currently worked for the Department of Corrections at Northwest Florida Reception Center. His hobbies included fishing and working on boats and boat motors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. All are welcome to attend to celebrate the life of Gene Flannagan.
