CLAYETTA LAWRENCE

Clayetta Lawrence, 91, of Mathison Retirement Center, Panama City, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010. She was born June 12, 1918 in McKenzie, Alabama to Dan and Lemma Lee. She was a graduate of Troy University. She taught school for 6 years in Alabama and 24 years with the Bay County School System. She was a member of the Jenks Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lenwood Lawrence and a son, Edward Dale Lawrence. She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Horton and husband, Curtis (Sonny) of Panama City; Kay Wellenkotter and husband, Bart of Fort Mill, SC; brother, William Howard Lee and wife, Nell of McKenzie, AL; 4 grandchildren, Christy Horton, Melody Horton, Christopher Dryja and Chloe Wellenkotter. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery, Andalusia, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Covenant Hospice or to the Jenks Avenue Church of Christ in memory of Clayetta Lawrence.
