CLARICE ANN THOMAS THURMAN

1917 – 2011

Mrs. Clarice Thurman, 93, of Austin, Texas (formerly of Lynn Haven) died October 31, 2011 in Austin.
Mrs. Thurman was born December 6, 1917 in Okaloosa Co., Fla. to the late Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Thomas, Sr.. Her family later moved to the Cromanton community on St. Andrews Bay and resided there until the advent of Tyndall Field. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church since 1958, where she lovingly served in the children's department and nursery, thereby touching the lives of three generations of children.
Mrs. Thurman was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Myrtice Thomas and Annie Merle Waldrop; two brothers, J.T. Thomas and C.N. Thomas, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Rita (Tony) Auerbach of Austin, Tex. and Yvonne (Harold) Rains of Lynn Haven; one granddaughter, Crystal (Steven) Johns of Chipley; three grandsons, David (Regina) Stidham, Adam Auerbach, and Alex Auerbach, all of Austin; three great-grandchildren, Madison Stidham, Michael Stidham, and Trevor Johns; one sister, Ozella McLeod, and one brother, Willard Thomas, both of Panama City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thurman will be held on Saturday, November 5 at 2 p.m. at the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Doug Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the Callaway Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the children's and nursery ministry of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church.
