Christine Hall Waters of Parker, Florida passed away on May 7, 2023. She was born in Webb, Alabama on February 3, 1926 to Ruth Barfield Hall and Daniel Cornelius Hall. Predeceased by her husband, Henry Nelson Waters, her sister, Ada Hall Washington, and her brother, James Earl Hall, she is survived by her son, Ray (Mary), granddaughter Helen Coleman, great-grandson Jonathan Coleman (Ashley), great-great-granddaughter Nova Pearl Coleman, niece Susan Garrett (Mike), niece Lois Washington Dunaway, and many more grand nieces and nephews.

Chris came to Panama City in 1942, graduated from Bay High School in 1945, met Henry in 1946, and they were married in 1947. They loved to travel by land or by sea throughout their 32-year marriage and had many adventures in the two sailboats they built. She was also a member of the Parker Garden Club and read voraciously all her life.

In 1972 she went to work for the Parker Water Department where she learned the names and addresses (and most of the water meter locations) of nearly every resident of Parker. She retired after 25 years and then volunteered at the Panama City Public Library and the Rutherford High School library.

She was active in the Parkway Presbyterian Church for many years where she was a member of the Beautiful Ladies Sunday School Class. After her husband's death in 1979 she and her close-knit friends who were also widows became the group she affectionately called "The Widder Wimmen". The ladies went out to dinner nearly every Friday night where they planned adventures which included trips to Mackinac Island, San Francisco, and Alaska. And now she has moved on to the next great adventure.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11am in the Parkway Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kim Stavenau officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 am prior to the service. A private interment at Parker Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral service.
