Christine Lentz Kelly Bodiford, 94, of Panama City, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road, Panama City. Private family interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Teeny was born August 15, 1923, in High Point, North Carolina. She was a 1944 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a degree in business. Following graduation, Teeny moved to Washington D.C. to serve her country through tracking military aircraft missions.
In 1945, Teeny married Raymond Kelly and they moved to Panama City, where Ray served as one of the original mechanical engineers (plankowner) assigned by the United States Navy to open the U.S. Navy Mine Defense Laboratory. Together they had three daughters. Ray died in 1981. In 1998 Teeny married Frank Bodiford.
Teeny was a founding member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Ruling Elder and attended the Agape Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by Raymond Kelly and daughter, Susan Kelly Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Bodiford, and daughters Kay Kelly Wallace (Dennis) and Tricia Kelly Thompson (Jim Murphy) and son-in-law, Wes Smith; sister, Tommie Reid; Frank's daughters, Deb Hastings (Steve) and Beverly Smoak (Bill); grandchildren, Jason Nabors (Rhonda), Kelly Moralle (Vince), and Daniel Thompson; and four great grandchildren, Jackson and Thomas Nabors, and Aidan and Avery Moralle, to whom she was "Great Teeny."
