Christine Lollie Hathaway, age 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 31st day of March 2016. She was a member of Bayou George Assembly of God for 60+ years. She enjoyed studying God's word and preparing for teaching Sunday school. She was a very loving, kind, generous, caring, Godly woman, and was a "Prayer Warrior" for her family and for her church family.
Christine is preceded in death by her husband, Archie E. (Gene) Hathaway, her father General David Lollie, her mother, Mollie Powell Lollie, brother General Hardie Lollie (3 months old), sister Oneater Lollie (26 months old), and one special older brother Arnold David Lollie, whom she dearly loved and spoke of often.
Survivors include her four sons: Edwin (Sandy), Albert (Kay), Vann (Terry), Ben (Sam) and one daughter, Gloria Hathaway Chapman (Art), 15 grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and numerous other family members and friends.
A special celebration of her life will be held at Bayou George Assembly of God on Monday, April 4, 2016, with the Rev. Dean Shumway officiating; assisted by Rev. Dewey Meyers. The family will receive friends and family at 1:00pm with funeral services being held at 2:00pm. Graveside services will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers include Joel Hathaway, Travis Kelly, Rodney Pitts, Gary Dorman, Pete Ellis, and Jody Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Pitts and Andy Hathaway.
A special thank you goes out to Theresa Hathaway, Mollie Hudson, Brenda Williams, and Fredda Bonds for all your care, compassion, and love that you showed to our mother. We would also like to thank Dr. Steven Mullis for the care
and compassion shown during our mother's extended illness.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bayou George Assembly of God Church to further grow the Kingdom of God of which we are all called to do.
