Obituary

Tom went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on June 27, 2015. Our Tom "fought the good fight" with grace and courage, and we rejoice in knowing that he struggles no more.

Tom was born July 12, 1955, in St. Petersburg, FL, and was the son of George Malcolm McPhail, Sr., and Mary Jane Lipsey McPhail. He was predeceased by his father, George Malcolm McPhail, Sr., his brother, George Malcolm McPhail, Jr., and his father-in-law, William Harold (Bill) Manis. He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie Manis McPhail, his sons, Charles Thomas McPhail, Jr. (Tabatha),
and Seth Eugene McPhail, his two stepsons, Zachary Logan Leonard (Amanda), and Luke Howell Leonard, his grandchildren, Landon Thomas McPhail, Gavin Eugene McPhail, step-granddaughter, Paisley Rae Leonard, his mother Mary Jane Lipsey McPhail, a sister, Annie Marie McPhail, a brother, William Albert McPhail, Sr., his mother-in-law, Jo Thomason Manis, his dog, Dusty, and many nieces and nephews and other family members who all loved him very much.

Tom's family is so appreciative to everyone who has offered their support, love, and prayers during Tom's final two-year journey of life. We are especially grateful to his doctors, Dr. Linda Fox, Dr. Steven Goodwiller, Dr. Shilpa Reddy, Dr. Bobbi Baker, and Dr. Rodney Morris; the staff from Community Health and Rehab, the nurses and aides from Covenant Hospice, and the doctors at the Mayo Clinic Liver Transplant Unit, as well as First Baptist Church, Hiland Park Baptist
Church, and Calvary Baptist Church.

Tom loved the outdoors. He was an avid Gator fan, Atlanta Braves fan, and he loved hunting, fishing, golfing. But most of all, Tom was a man of God...he was a praying man and we rejoice in knowing that we will see him again....

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm in the First Baptist Church of Panama City. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church or to Covenant Hospice in memory of Tom McPhail. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Brock Pest Control and members of the Florida Pest Management Association.
