Charles Franklin Smith, 83, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021.  He was born April 6, 1938 in Panama City to John & Emma Smith.  He served in the United States Navy from 1958-1962.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator at International Paper Company retiring after 32 years of service.  He was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Smith.  He is survived by his wife, Frances P. Smith; three children, Steve Smith (Stacy), Bobby Smith, Carolyn Smith Andrews; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Lumley.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Millville Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in memory of Charles Smith.
