On Sunday November 20, 2016, with his loving ex-wife, Roswitha King, by his side, David passed from this life into life eternal with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. David was born January 26, 1953 in Union City, Tennessee. His parents were Charles Davidson King Sr. and Martha Allen King (deceased); sister: Pamela King Avison and husband Max Heidenreich; nephews. Michael Avison and wife Cindy Avison and Shane Avison (deceased); Grandniece: Shana Avison; grandparents: Mr and Mrs H. T. King and Dr. and Mrs H.A. Allen. He graduated from Obion County Central High School in 1971. David was a skilled craftsman in multiple areas, making things better than new. He restored multiple homes, boats, businesses and even the American Express train luxury coaches. He made friends easily and many people he worked for became lifelong friends. One of David's passions was being on the water with his friends and family, fishing and sailing his boat "Breeze". He attended East Gate Christian Fellowship, and served multiple times on a spiritual retreat called "Emmaus Walk"; once serving in the highest position as lay director. Although David was diagnosed with terminal cancer he never gave up, he wanted to get better and with the help of his wonderful friends and caregivers at Health South he gave it 200%. He was so thankful for their encouragement, love and kindness that he didn't want to leave. David "fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith" and has heard the wonderful words "well done My good and faithful servant".

A memorial service will be held at Bay Point Yacht Club, 3820 Hatteras Lane, Panama City Beach, on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM.
