CHARLES EDGAR CAMP

Charles Edgar Camp, 67, of Wewahitchka, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 6, 2008 after an 11 month battle with leukemia. He was born March 5, 1940 in Atlanta, Georgia and had been a resident here since 1947. He was a 1958 graduate of Bay High School and was an active member of Westside Baptist Church in Wewahitchka. He was the owner of Camp Roofing & Sheet Metal and had been employed by the Bay County Building Department as a building/roofing inspector since 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.D. & Irene Camp and a foster son, Payne Nation. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Glenda Tew Camp of Wewahitchka; son, Alan Camp of Panama City Beach; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Price and husband, Justin of Valdosta, GA, Chris Nation, Scott Nation of Lynn Haven; brother, Bill Camp and wife, Ann of Wewahitchka; 2 sisters, Sheila Olmstead and husband, Charles of Panama City, Sue Coker and husband, Jimmy of Dothan, AL; and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 10 at 6 p.m. in the Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Moore and Rev. Derrick Gerber officiating. Private interment will be in the Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery in Valdosta, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may make a contribution to the Building Fund of Westside Baptist Church, Box 1145, Wewahitchka, FL 32465 in memory of Charles Camp.
