Charles W. "Bill" Davis

Charles W. "Bill" Davis, 77, of Panama City passed away Sunday Nov. 26 2006 at Bay Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was co-owner of Davis Furniture Company. He had been a resident of Panama City since 1942. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Adult IV Sunday School Class and also served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. and Florence S. Davis, brother, Donald Dwight Davis and sister, Lynell Davis Rearick. He is survived by his wife, Margie Powell Davis of Panama City, 2 sons, Ronald William Davis of Panama City, Charles Anthony Davis and wife Denise of Houston, Texas, daughter, Angela Davis Ecker and husband, Lewis of Clermont, Florida, 11 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild, 4 sisters-in-law, Jean Davis Smith, Coreta Pratt and husband Willard, Charla Morris and husband Monroe, Martha Greeson, brother-in-law, Eugene I. Powell and wife Skipper, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Moffett officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Immanuel Baptist Church Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. Active pallbearers will be John Davis, Mark Davis, Joseph Davis, A.J. Ecker, Zachary Ecker, Donnie Smith, Shawn Turk and Scotty Lillard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Adult IV Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the building fund of Immanuel Baptist Church, 216 College Ave.
